With around 1,837 exhibitors from 54 countries, Drupa 2016 reported excellent business deals, extremely promising contacts and a positive spirit for the global print industry – not least for the synthetic doctor blade market.
“Held every 4 years, Drupa is a key date in the print industry calendar,” says Esterlam’s Neil Hailey. “We’ve seen the industry change a great deal since our father invented the original synthetic doctor blade over 30 years ago. We’ve been attending Drupa since the 1980’s and have seen the demand and support for doctor blades grow substantially each time.”
Based in the UK, the founders of Esterlam, Don & Joy Hailey, innovated and created the world’s first synthetic laminate doctor blade in the 1970’s. Today, Esterlam’s blades are used in over 100 countries world-wide.
“We’re proud to have developed a product with OEM’s and leading companies from all sectors of the industry. It’s so encouraging to see after years of product development, synthetic doctor blades are not just a strong competitor for steel blades, but in many cases; they are now the number one choice. It’s great to see the belief we’ve always had for our product being understood and have so many companies now realising and trusting Esterlam’s unique doctor blades can offer the same performance as steel without the dangers and abrasiveness. We can’t wait to see how this develops even further and what will Drupa 2020 bring?”
Esterlam has over 45 years’ experience in doctor blade innovation and design for all area’s or printing and coating.
