FTA INFO*FLEX  2018 – Another Successful Year

By | Esterlam | No Comments

The labels and packaging industry descended upon Indianapolis, USA, earlier this month for the annual FTA Forum & INFOFLEX exhibition from May 6-9, 2018.

INFOFLEX, Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) is one of the largest exhibitions of the year and Esterlam have been proudly taking part for many years.

“We were delighted to be there again,” says Director Neil Hailey who travelled from the UK-based Esterlam Ltd.  “There’s a lot of positivity and movement towards the Esterlam synthetic doctor blades in the print industry at the moment and it’s great to be part of it.”

The event for the entire global package printing and converting community at Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) 2018 Forum & INFO*FLEX, attracted heavy foot traffic.

An expert group of presenters detailed the latest trends in flexography, while the trade show allowed for guests to network and learn more about the newest products available on the market.

The event also featured the President’s Reception and FTA Awards Banquet on May 6, and the Monday Evening Social on May 7. At the Banquet, flexo industry veteran Lon Robinson, director of research and development at Tension Envelope Corporation, was inducted into the FTA Hall of Fame.

According to FTA president Mark Cisternino, the sold-out INFOFLEX attracted 235 exhibitors at 307 booths in the Indiana Convention Center. Over 2,000 people attended, and Forum drew more than 40 expert speakers.

“We look at the FTA Forum and INFOFLEX as the most important event for flexography in North America, and quite possibly the world,” said Rory Marsoun, VP of business development–Flexo, Americas, at Esko. “This is where ideas are presented, discussed and nurtured into the next major industry trend. We’re all part of one team, and we’re here because we’re striving to push flexography forward.”

Esterlam travel worldwide to exhibit and offer technical support.  “Taking the time to exhibit and meet people is what it’s all about,” adds Neil. “We met one company who want synthetic blades for safety, blade & roller life.  They tested another synthetic blade and been disappointed” says Neil. “They saw up to a staggering 20% increase in colour tones with the other blade.  However, with our Esterlam Advanced Doctor Blades they didn’t see any such increase at all, achieved their other objectives & were delighted with the print quality too. Providing quality, cost effective solutions for customers is what drives us forward.”
